New Patient Management Features included in PCC EHR Version 1.8.1
PCC EHR Version 1.8 will include improved Patient Management functionality. The main schedule screen has been updated to communicate patient check-in, patient status, room assignment, and visit completion.
When patients check-in, they now reflect as "Arrived". Further patient status can be identified throughout the visit by clicking the green button which rotates through four common status options; Ready-Nurse, w/Nurse, Ready-Prov and w/Provider. Room assignments can also be made on the schedule screen using a drop down list of options. Room names are configurable (up to 3 characters). When a visit is complete, users may indicate this by clicking the "GONE" button, an "UNDO" function is also available in the event that a patient is inadvertently marked as "GONE".
In addition to the new patient management functionality our Design Team has implemented, a significant layout change has been made to the schedule screen. Observation of current use of the system has shown that the filtering features are important, but not used on a daily basis. Users tend to "set it and forget it". Our team has responded to this observation by moving the filtering options to the bottom of the screen which puts the most used information closer to the top.
The schedule date feature was also adjusted to allow users to type in a date, or use short hand to quickly find commonly requested dates such as "t" for today and "y" for yesterday. The calendar view is still available in the form of a pop-up next to the date box and reflects a new "today" button used to snap back to today's patient list quickly if you've been browsing other dates in the calendar.
