Plans for PCC EHR Version 2.0

Our goal in creating PCC EHR Version 1.1 was to replace the paper chart and allow pediatricians who want PCC EHR right away to implement it in their office. Now that PCC EHR Version 1.1 is complete and up and running in a handful of pediatric offices, work has begun on PCC EHR Version 2.0. 

The next version of PCC EHR will focus on the daily workflow of a pediatrician and address common tasks a pediatrician completes outside of the patient exam. This may include items such as following up on orders, acknowledging receipt of new scanned documents, and supervising the work of other clinicians. We also expect Version 2.0 to help pediatricians communicate with other clinical and non-clinical staff. 

PCC EHR Version 2.0 will also include e-prescribing, in addition to the prescription tracking abilities included in the current version. We also expect to make improvements and adjustments to PCC EHR that will help practices currently using the product. 

As an initial step to moving forward on PCC EHR Version 2.0, our Design Team will conduct interviews with pediatricians to gather information about their workflow. We will then develop a series of planned iterations for the next release of PCC EHR and update this site with more specific information about our direction and about how you can help.
