Credentials

The 1 million dollar question, for which I would love to hear anyone's final
answer, is this...

When listing a nurse practitioner's credentials after her/his name, which
order is the *correct* way to do so?

1) R.N., M.S.N., P.N.P.
2) M.S.N., R.N., P.N.P.

I've contacted three colleges of graduate nursing studies and all differ in
opinion. Some say the R.N. goes first, while others state that the degree
goes first, followed by any certifications (i.e. RN and PNP).

Does anyone REALLY know? We are revising signage and stationery and would
like to make it as
"professionally correct" as possible. Thanks so much!

You can email me privately if you know :)
Karen M. Kohlruss R.N., B.S.N. or is it B.S.N., R.N.?

I agree, and I don't find that posts are ignored or granted credence based
on the credentials of their authors. I've seen intelligent and informative
posts from parents with no formal medical training whatsoever, and have yet
to get a "you're just a nurse, who cares what you think?" response to my
posts. In addition, I find the posts from international members intriguing
because it reflects the different approaches to health care in different
regions. And I added "USA" to my auto-sig below because not everyone will
know where Wyoming is.

Long live letters!
