NCQA's New Specialty Practice Recognition Program Public Comment Opens Today
>From Monday, June 11 - Friday, July 6, 2012 all parties are invited to comment on proposed standards for a new product
that is tentatively titled the NCQA Specialty Practice Recognition Program (SPR) 2013.
The enormous success of the Patient-Centered Medical Home 2011 has helped many primary care practices to transform.
This is from the Freakonomics Blog ( I'm a big fan of the Freakonomics
guys).
Whoa, this is pretty heavy. Too harsh? You be the judge.

My daughter is an ambitious computer science student at Michigan State, and she's looking for an app to develop for Android and Windows smartphones.
During a 3 hour car ride together, we brainstormed a bit and I suggested developing an app that could (a) keep a child's vaccine record, and (b) know the schedule well enough to tell which vaccines should be given on a specific date. I would envision it as a standalone app mainly for parents, and not integrate it with any state registries or EMRs.
Any of the practices use collection agencies ? If so, could you recommend a few names ? If an account lands in collections, do you still see the patients ?
In the last 30 years, we haven't resorted to collections. Lately, we have too many unpaid bills, with insurances with high deductibles, credit card failings etc etc.
